the Sri Lanka, and around the world, including users of Simplemeal.lk’s apps,
Simplemeal.lk web platform, Simplemeal.lk web sites, features, or any other products
and services .
This Policy notice describes how Simplemeal.lk and its affiliated partners and
collaborators collects and use personal information. This Policy notice applies to all our
customers and users of our web platform, apps, Simplemeal.lk sites, features, or other
products and services anywhere in the world and in Sri Lanka, unless covered by a
separate privacy Policy notice , such as the Simplemeal.lk Delivery Privacy Policy notice
or Registration Privacy Policy. This Policy notice specifically applies to:
Delivering person/s: individuals who request or receive transportation
instructions/orders through simplemeal.lk, including those who receive
transportation requested by another individual via the simplemeal.lk web
platform.
Delivering person/s: individuals who provide transportation to Delivering
person/s individually or through partner transportation companies and or
transport suppliers.
Delivery recipients: individuals who request by method of ordering online
through our Simplemeal.lk platform or receive food, or other products and
products and services, including through Simplemeal.lk and or by any of our
registered delivery partners
Delivery persons: individuals who provide delivery products and services,
including through Simplemeal.lk and or by any of our registered delivery
partners
Food preparation partners: individuals, groups, businesses, companies, kitchen,
restraints that supply cooked/prepared food via our Simplemeal.lk web
platform/app.
Food suppliers: individuals, groups, businesses, companies, vendors that supply
food stocks, ingredients, unprocessed food, uncooked food items to food
preparation partners.
Vendors and service providers: individuals, groups, businesses, companies that
provide utensils, tools, machinery, utilities and any other required product and
services to the food preparation partners and or to simplemeal.lk.
This Policy notice also governs Simplemeal.lk’s other collections of personal
information in connection with its products and services. For example, Simplemeal.lk
may collect the contact information of individuals who use accounts owned by
Simplemeal.lk for Business customers, or of owners or employees of restaurants or
other merchants; including all food supply partners; personal information of those
who start but do not complete applications to be customers, suppliers, food
preparation partners, service providers, delivering person/s or delivery persons; or
other personal information in connection with our mapping technology and features
that are used on the Simplemeal.lk’s site.
All those subject to this Policy notice are referred to as “users” in this Policy notice, and
which term or expression as herein used where the context to so requires or admits of
construction shall be construed to mean and include all such users.

2.B. Data/Information controller and transfer
Simplemeal.lk. and ARG & Associates. are the data/information controllers for the
personal data/ information collected in connection with use of Simplemeal.lk’s products
and services in Sir Lanka. and every ware else.
Simplemeal.lk and ARG and Associates. are the data/information controller for the
personal information collected in connection with use of Simplemeal.lk’s products and
services in Sri Lanka and everywhere else.
Simplemeal.lk and ARG and Associates operates, and processes personal
Data/information, globally. Simplemeal.lk may also transfer such data/information to
countries other than the one where our users live or use Simplemeal.lk’s products and
services. Simplemeal.lk, do so in order to fulfill our agreements with users, such as our
Terms Conditions and Policies , or based on users’ prior consent, adequacy decisions
for the relevant countries, or other transfer mechanisms as may be available under
applicable law, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.

3. Data/Information collects ions and uses
3.A. The information that Simplemeal.lk collects
Simplemeal.lk collects personal information:
Provided by our users of Simplemeal.lk, such as during account creation
Gathered during use of our products and services, such as location, app usage,
and device information.
From other sources, such as other users or account owners, business partners,
vendors, insurance and financial solution providers, and governmental
authorities.
The following personal information is collected by or on behalf of Simplemeal.lk:
3.A.1. Information provided by users. This includes:
User profile: simplemeal.lk collects information when users create or update
their Simplemeal.lk accounts. This may include their name, email, phone
number, login name and password, address, profile picture, payment or banking
information (including related payment verification information), delivering
person/s’s license and other government identification documents (which may
indicate document numbers as Simplemeal.lkll as birth date, gender, and
photo).
This also includes vehicle or insurance information of delivering
person/s and delivery recipient, that use the Simplemeal.lk’s platform, our food
preparation partners, suppliers, vendors, and service providers, emergency
contact information, user settings, and evidence of health or fitness to provide
products and services using Simplemeal.lk web platform/ apps.
This also includes gender and/or occupation (when required for suppling certain
Simplemeal.lk products and services or programs, such as Simplemeal.lk
community programs an competitions or features that enable women to
provide products and services or receive products and services to/from other
women).
Simplemeal.lk may use the photos uploaded/submitted by its users to verify
their identities, such as through facial verification and or recognition
technologies. For more details, please see the section titled “How Simplemeal.lk
use personal information.”
Background checks of users and identity verification (including delivering
person/s and delivery recipients, our food preparation partners, suppliers,
vendors, and service providers). In the case of Delivering person/s and delivery
partners. this may include information such as delivering person/s history or
criminal record (where permitted by law), license status, known aliases and
prior addresses, and right to work. This information may be collected by an
authorized vendor on Simplemeal.lk’s behalf. Simplemeal.lk also verify the
identities of delivering person/s, and of delivery recipients who request delivery
of items controlled by the excise department.
Demographic information : Simplemeal.lk may in some instances collects and
use demographic information about users, including through user surveys, and
from third parties.
Simplemeal.lk may at times also use demographic information from other
information collected from other users. An instance of such use of collected
information will be, where necessary, to enable features that allow women to
provide or receive products and services from other women, Simplemeal.lk may
infer gender, using users first name. In such instances, Simplemeal.lk enable
users to change their gender if necessary via in-app or web settings > My
Dashboard > Personalize.
User content: Simplemeal.lk collects the information submitted by its users
when they contact Simplemeal.lk customer support (including through
Simplemeal.lk Hot Line or any other extension line), provide ratings or
compliments for other users, food preparation partners, kitchens, restaurants
or merchants, or otherwise contact Simplemeal.lk. This may include feedback,
photographs or other recordings collected by users, including audio or video
recordings, submitted by users in connection with customer support. This also
includes metadata relating to the method you or our users, use to communicate
with Simplemeal.lk.
Travel information: Simplemeal.lk collects delivery itinerary information,
including the times and dates of upcoming deliveries, delivery schedules plans
or reservations, from users of our Simplemeal.lk deliver services, partner
delivery services or our third party delivery feature. Simplemeal.lk will collect
such information: (1) when users manually input their information into an
Simplemeal.lk delivery options and delivery service provider sections; or (2) if
authorized by users to access their Gmail accounts, from location-related email
confirmations. If so authorized, Simplemeal.lk will only access users’ Gmail
accounts to collects travel location information to enable the Simplemeal.lk
delivery feature, and will adhere to Google’s API Products and services User
Information Policy, including the limitations on use of information collected
from users’ Gmail accounts.
3.A.2. Information created during use of our products and services. This will include:
Location information (delivering person/s and delivery person): Simplemeal.lk
collects delivering person/s s’ and delivery recipients precise or approximate
location information, including to enable deliveries, to enable delivery
tracking and safety features, to stop and detect fraud, and to satisfy legal
requirements. Simplemeal.lk collects this information when the Simplemeal.lk
app is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen) or background (app
open but not on-screen) of their mobile device.
Location information (delivering person/s and delivery recipients).
Simplemeal.lk collects s delivering person/s’ and delivery recipients’ precise or
approximate location information to enable and enhance use of our apps,
including to make better pick-ups, facilitate deliveries, enable safety features,
and stop and detect fraud. Please see our Delivery person/s Location Help
page for detailed information on how Simplemeal.lk use this data.
Simplemeal.lk collects such information from users’ mobile devices if they
enable for us to do so. (See “Choice and transparency” below for information
on how delivering person/s and delivery recipients can enable location
information collection). Simplemeal.lk collects s such information from the
time a delivery is requested until it is finished (and may indicate such collection
via an icon or notification on you or our users mobile device depending on you
or our users device’s operating system), and any time the app is running in the
foreground (app open and on-screen) of their mobile device.
Delivering person/s and delivery recipients may use the Simplemeal.lk apps
without enabling Simplemeal.lk to collect precise location information from
their mobile devices. For Simplemeal.lk; this may affect features in the
Simplemeal.lk apps. For example, a user who has not made possible the
location information collection will have to manually enter their pick-up
address. In addition, the location information collected from a delivering
person/s during a Pick up and delivery run will be linked to the delivery
person/s account, even if the delivery person/s has not enable the location
information to be collected from their device, including for purposes of receipt
generation, customer support, fraud detection, insurance, and litigation.
Transaction information: Simplemeal.lk collects transaction information related
to the use of our products and services, including the type of products and
services requested or provided, order details, payment transaction information
(such as a food preparation partner’s, restaurant’s or merchant's name and
location and amount of transaction), delivery information, date and time the
service was provided, amount charged, distance traveled, and payment
method. In addition, if someone uses your, or our users, promotion code;
Simplemeal.lk may associate you or our user’s name with that person.
Usage information: Simplemeal.lk collects information about how users interact
with our products and services. This includes information such as access dates
and times, app features or pages via Simplemeal.lk’s, app crashes and other
system activity, and type of browser. Simplemeal.lk may also collect
information regarding the third-party sites or products and services used
before interacting with our products and services , which Simplemeal.lk use for
marketing. (Please see "How Simplemeal.lk Use Information" below for more
information on how Simplemeal.lk markets our products and services to users).
In some instances , Simplemeal.lk collects this information through cookies,
pixels, tags, and similar tracking technologies that create and maintain unique
identifiers. To learn more about these technologies, please see our Cookie
Policy notice.
Device information: Simplemeal.lk may collects information about the devices
used to access our products and services, including the hardware models,
device IP address or other unique device identifiers, operating systems and
versions, software, preferred languages, advertising identifiers, device motion
information, and mobile network information.
Communications information: Simplemeal.lk at certain times enable, users to
communicate with each other and Simplemeal.lk through Simplemeal.lk’s
mobile apps and Simplemeal.lk’s sites. For example, Simplemeal.lk makes
possible, delivery persons and delivery recipients, to call, text, or send other
files to each other (generally without disclosing their telephone numbers to
each other). To provide this service, Simplemeal.lk receives some information
regarding the calls, texts, or other communications, including the date and time
of the communications and the content of the communications. Simplemeal.lk
may also use this information for customer support products and services
(including to resolve disputes of Simplemeal.lk’s users), for safety and security
purposes, to make better our products, services, features, and for analytics.
Safety recordings: In certain jurisdictions, and where permitted by law, users
can record the audio and/or video of their Pick-up and delivery run/s through
an in-app feature or using a video camera. In app recordings are encrypted and
stored on users’ devices, and are only shared with Simplemeal.lk if submitted to
customer support by the users in connection with safety incidents. Please
see here more information.
3.A.3. Information from other sources. These include:
Users participating in our referral programs. For example, when a user refers to
another person, Simplemeal.lk receive the referred person’s personal
information from that user.
Simplemeal.lk account owners who request products and services for or on
behalf of other users, or who enable such users to request or receive products
and services through their accounts. This includes owners of Simplemeal.lk
accounts for Business accounts and individual accounts.
Users or others providing information in connection with claims or disputes.
Simplemeal.lk business partners through which users create or access their
Simplemeal.lk account, such as payment providers, social media products and
services, or apps or Simplemeal.lk’s sites that use Simplemeal.lk’s APIs or whose
APIs Simplemeal.lk uses.
Simplemeal.lk business partners in connection with debit or credit cards issued
by a financial institution in partnership with Simplemeal.lk to the extent
disclosed in the terms and conditions for the card.
Simplemeal.lk business partners in connection with communication service
providers in partnership with Simplemeal.lk to the extent disclosed in the terms
and conditions for such services.
Vendors who help us verify users’ identity, background information, and
eligibility to work, or who screen users in connection with sanctions, anti-
money laundering, or know-you or our users-customer requirements
Insurance, vehicle, or financial products and services providers for delivering
person/s and/or delivery persons and food preparation partners.
Partner transportation companies (for delivering person/s or delivery persons
who use our products and services through an account associated with such a
company)
Publicly available sources.
Marketing service providers or information resellers whose information
Simplemeal.lk uses for marketing or research.
Law enforcement officials, public health officials, and other government
authorities.
Simplemeal.lk may combine the information collected from these sources with other
information in its possession.
3.B. How Simplemeal.lk use personal information
Simplemeal.lk uses personal information to enable reliable and convenient
transportation goods, food delivery, and other products and services. Simplemeal.lk
also use such information:
To enhance the safety and security of our users and products and services
For customer support
For research and development
To enable communications of Simplemeal.lken users
To send marketing and non-marketing communications to users
In connection with legal proceedings
Simplemeal.lk does not sell or share user personal information with third parties for
their direct marketing, except with users’ consent.
Simplemeal.lk use personal information Simplemeal.lk collects:
3.B.1. To provide our products and services. Simplemeal.lk uses information to
provide, personalize, maintain, and make better our products and services .
This includes using information to:
Create/update accounts.
Enable transportation and delivery of products and services (such as using
location information to facilitate a pick up or delivery), features that involve
information sharing (such as ETA sharing, and ratings and compliments),
and accessibility features (for Windows, Mac, Android, Apple) to facilitate use of our products and services by those
with disabilities.
Process payments.
Track and share the progress of deliveries.
Create Simplemeal.lk Pickup and delivery itineraries for food deliveries.
Personalize users’ accounts. Simplemeal.lk may, for example, present an
Simplemeal.lk user with personalized kitchens, restaurant or food
recommendations based on their prior orders. Please see the section of this
Policy notice titled “Choice and transparency” to learn how to object to this use
of personal information.
Facilitate insurance, vehicle, invoicing, or financing solutions.
Perform required actions to maintain our products, services and required
action, including to troubleshoot software bugs and operational problems; to
conduct information analysis, testing, and research; and to monitor and analyze
usage and activity trends.
Simplemeal.lk executes the above activities, including the collection and use of location
information for purposes of these activities, on the grounds that they are necessary to
fulfill our obligations to users under our Terms Conditions and Policies or other
agreements with users.
3.B.2. Safety and security. Simplemeal.lk uses personal information to help maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our products, services, required action and users.
This includes:
Verifying users' identity and eligibility to provide deliveries, including through
reviews of background checks, where permitted by law, to help stop use of our
products and required action by unsafe delivering person/s and/or delivering
person/s.
In certain sectors, this includes Simplemeal.lk’s Real-Time ID Check feature,
which prompts delivering person/s’s and delivery reciepient to share a selfie
before going online to help ensure that the delivering person/s or delivery
person using the app matches the Simplemeal.lk account, Simplemeal.lk have
on file. Where permitted by law, this also includes performing facial recognition
and verification of photographs submitted by users, or collected from public
information bases, to stop identity-borrowing or to verify users’ identities.
Using device, location, user profile, usage, and other information to stop,
detect, and combat fraud. This includes identifying fraudulent accounts or uses
of our products and required action, stopping the use of our products and
required action by unauthorized delivering person/s or delivery persons,
verifying user identities in connection with certain payment methods, and
stopping and combating unauthorized access to users’ accounts.
Using user ratings, reported incidents, and other feedback to encourage
compliance with our Community Guidelines and as grounds for deactivating
users with low ratings or who otherwise violated such guidelines in certain
countries.
Sharing information regarding delivering person/s or delivery person safety
incidents or compliance with local regulations with third parties, including other
companies who enable users to request or provide delivery products and
required action , or intermediaries who collects and report such information for
multiple companies, to stop delivering person/s or delivery persons who may
pose a safety risk to the platform or its users from using Simplemeal.lk’s or
those other companies’ products and services . Simplemeal.lk may also share
with third parties, including those affected by such incidents, whether the
incidents result in account deactivation.
Using ratings, usage and other information to stop matching of delivering
person/s and delivery reciepient/s for whom there is higher risk of conflict (for
instance, because one user previously gave the other a one-star rating).
Simplemeal.lk executes the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to
fulfill our obligations to users under our Terms Conditions and Policies or other
agreements with users, and/or for purposes of the legitimate safety and security
interests of Simplemeal.lk or other parties, including users and members of the general
public.
3.B.3. Customer support. Simplemeal.lk uses the information Simplemeal.lk collects (which may include call recordings) to provide customer support, including to investigate and address user concerns and to monitor and make better our customer support responses and processes.
Simplemeal.lk executes the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfill our obligations to users under our Terms Conditions and Policies or other agreements with users.
3.B.4. Research and development. Simplemeal.lk may use personal information for testing, research, analysis, product development, and machine learning to make better the user experience. This helps us make our products and services, more convenient and easy-to-use, enhance the safety and security of our products and required action, and develop new products and services and features.
Simplemeal.lk executes the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfil our obligations to users under our Terms Conditions and Policies or other agreements with users in improving our existing products, services, required action and features, or for purposes of Simplemeal.lk’s legitimate interests developing new products and services and features.
3.B.5. Enabling communications of Simplemeal.lk users. For example, a delivering person/s may message or call food preparation partner, kitchen, restaurant or food supplier to confirm a pickup location, or to retrieve a lost item, or a delivering person/s may message or call a delivery recipient with information about their order.
Simplemeal.lk executes the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfill our obligations to users under our Terms Conditions and Policies or other agreements with users.
3.B.6. Marketing. Simplemeal.lk may use personal information to market our products and required action to our users. This includes sending users communications about Simplemeal.lk products and required action, features, promotions, Simplemeal.lk takes, studies, surveys, news, updates, and events.
Simplemeal.lk may do so through various
methods, including email, text messages, push notifications, in app communications
and ads, and ads on third party platforms.
Simplemeal.lk may also inform users about products and products and services offered
by Simplemeal.lk partners. For example, Simplemeal.lk may provide recommendations,
promotions, or ads for Simplemeal.lk partners based on users’ past delivery orders.
Although Simplemeal.lk inform users about products and services offered by
Simplemeal.lk partners, Simplemeal.lk does not sell users’ personal information to, or
share it with, such partners or others for purposes of their own direct marketing or
advertising, except with users’ consent.
Simplemeal.lk may use the information - Simplemeal.lk collects, including in
combination with advertising partners’ information, to personalize and make better
the marketing communications (including ads) that Simplemeal.lk send on and off
Simplemeal.lk’s web platform/apps and Simplemeal.lk’s sites, including based on user
location, use of Simplemeal.lk’s products and services, and user preferences and
settings. For example, Simplemeal.lk share user information (such as hashed email
address, usage information, and device or user identifiers) with authorized social media
platforms to personalize and make better our ads for Simplemeal.lk’s products and
required action.

Simplemeal.lk executes the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary for
purposes of Simplemeal.lk’s legitimate interests in informing users about Simplemeal.lk
products, services and features or those offered by Simplemeal.lk partners, or on the
basis of user consent. See the sections titled “Choice and
transparency” and “Marketing choices” for information on your or our user’s choices
regarding Simplemeal.lk’s use of your or our user’s information for marketing.
3.B.7. Non-marketing communications. Simplemeal.lk may use personal information to generate and provide users with receipts; inform them of changes to our terms, products and required action, or policies; or send other communications that aren’t for the purpose of marketing the products and required action or products of Simplemeal.lk or its partners.
Simplemeal.lk executes the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfill our obligations to users under our Terms Conditions and Policies or other agreements with users, or for purposes of Simplemeal.lk’s and its user’s legitimate interests in informing users about events that may have an impact on how they can use Simplemeal.lk products and services.
3.B.8. Legal proceedings and requirements. Simplemeal.lk may use personal information to investigate or address claims or disputes relating to use of Simplemeal.lk’s products and services, to satisfy requirements under applicable laws, regulations, or operating licenses or agreements, or pursuant to legal process or governmental request, including from law enforcement.
Simplemeal.lk executes the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary for purposes of Simplemeal.lk’s legitimate interests in investigating and responding to claims and disputes relating to use of Simplemeal.lk’s products and services and features, and/or necessary for compliance with applicable legal requirements.
3.B.9. AI decision-making
Simplemeal.lk use personal information to make AI decisions relating to use of our
products and services.
This includes:
Enabling dynamic pricing, in which the price of a product, or the delivery fee for
Simplemeal.lk’s orders, is determined based on constant variable factors such
as the estimated time and distance, the predicted route, estimated traffic, and
the number of delivering person/s and delivering person/s using Simplemeal.lk
at a given moment.
Matching available delivering person/s and delivery recipients to users
requesting products and services. Users can be matched based on availability,
proximity, and other factors such as likelihood to accept a Pick-up and delivery
run, based on their past behavior or preferences.
Determining user ratings, and deactivating users with low ratings, where
otherwise required by law, such deactivation occurs only after human review
and/or the possibility to appeal. For more information about how ratings are
determined and used, please see here for delivery person/s, food preparation
partner, restaurant, kitchen ratings, supplier, vendor and customer ratings.
Please also see the section below titled “Ratings look-up” for further
information.
Flagging users who are identified as having engaged in fraud, unsafe activity, or
other activities that may harm Simplemeal.lk, its users, and others. In some
instances , such as when a user is determined to be abusing Simplemeal.lk’s
referral program or has submitted fraudulent documents, such behavior may
result in automatic deactivation, or where otherwise required by
law, deactivation after human review.
Using delivering person/s location information, and communications of
Simplemeal.lk’s delivering person/s to identify cancellation fees earned or
induced through fraud. For example, if Simplemeal.lk determine by using such
information that a delivering person/s is delaying a pickup in order to induce a
cancellation, Simplemeal.lk will not charge the person waiting for the pick up
and or delivery recipient, a cancellation fee and will adjust to the amounts paid
to the delivering person/s to omit such a fee. To object to such an adjustment,
please contact Simplemeal.lk customer support.
Using delivering person/s information (such as location, rating and gender) and
delivery person/s information (such as rating, origin and destination) to help
avoid pairings of users that may result in increased risk of conflict.

Simplemeal.lk executes the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to
fulfill our obligations to users under our Terms Conditions and Policies or other
agreements with users, or on the grounds that they are necessary for purposes of the
legitimate interests of Simplemeal.lk, its users and others.
3.C. Cookies and third-party technologies
Simplemeal.lk and its partners use cookies and other identification technologies on our
web platform/apps, Simplemeal.lk’s sites, emails, and online ads for purposes described
in this Policy notice, and Simplemeal.lk’s Cookie Policy notice.
Cookies are small text files that are stored on browsers or devices by Simplemeal.lk’s
sites, web platforms, apps, online media, and advertisements. Simplemeal.lk uses
cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as:
Authenticating users.
Remembering user preferences and settings.
Determining the popularity of content.
Delivering and measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
Analyzing site traffic and trends, and generally understanding the online

products and required action for simplemeal.lk, to serve advertisements on our behalf
across the Internet, and to track and report on the performance of those
advertisements. These entities may use cookies, Simplemeal.lk’s beacons, SDKs, and
other technologies to identify the devices used by visitors to our Simplemeal.lk’s sites,
as Simplemeal.lk as when they visit other online sites and products and services.

3.D. Information sharing and disclosure
Some of Simplemeal.lk’s products and services and features require that Simplemeal.lk
share personal information with other users or at a user’s request. Simplemeal.lk may
also share such information with our affiliates, subsidiaries, and partners, for legal
reasons or in connection with claims or disputes.
Simplemeal.lk may share personal information:
3.D.1. With other users
This includes sharing:
Delivering person/s’ first name, rating, and pickup and/or drop-off locations
with delivery receiving person.
Delivering person/s’ first name with other delivering person/s in a delivery
persons pool, Pick-up and delivery run . Delivering person/s in any delivery
persons’ pool; Pick-up and delivery run s may also see the drop-off location of
the other delivering person/s.
Delivery recipients’ first name, delivery address, and order information with
their delivery person and kitchen, restaurant or merchant. Simplemeal.lk may
also share ratings and feedback, or other information to the extent required by
law, with the food preparation partners, kitchens, restaurant partner and
delivery person.
For delivering person/s and delivery persons, Simplemeal.lk may share
information with the delivery person/s, delivery recipient(s) and food
preparation partners, kitchens, restaurants or merchants, including name and
photo; vehicle make, model, color, license plate, and vehicle photo; location
(before and during Pick-up and delivery run ); average rating provided by users;
total number of Pick-up and delivery run s; period of time since they signed up
to be a delivering person/s or delivery person; contact information (if permitted
by applicable laws); and delivering person/s or delivery person profile, including
compliments and other feedback submitted by past users.
Simplemeal.lk also provide delivering person/s and with delivery receipts,
containing information such as a breakdown of amounts charged, delivering
person/s or delivery person first name, photo, and route map. Simplemeal.lk
also include other information on those receipts if required by law.
For those who participate in Simplemeal.lk’s referral program, Simplemeal.lk
share certain personal information of referred users, such as Pick-up and
delivery run count, with the user who referred them, to the extent relevant to
determining the referral bonus.
3.D.2. At the user’s request
This includes sharing information with:
Simplemeal.lk’s business partners. For example, if a user requests a service
through a partnership or promotional offering made by a third party,
Simplemeal.lk may share certain information with those third parties.
This may
include, for example, other products and services, platforms, apps, or
Simplemeal.lk’s sites that integrate with our APIs; delivery suppliers or products
and services; those with an API or service with which Simplemeal.lk integrate;
or food preparation partners, kitchens restaurants, merchants or other
Simplemeal.lk business partners and their users in connection with promotions,
competitions, or specialized products and required action.
Emergency products and required action: Simplemeal.lk offer features that
enable users to share their information with police, fire, and ambulance
products and required action in the event of an emergency or after certain
incidents. For more information, please see the sections below titled “Choice
and Transparency” and “Emergency Information Sharing”.
3.D.3. With the general public
Questions or comments from users submitted through public forums such as
Simplemeal.lk blogs and Simplemeal.lk social media pages may be viewable by the
public, including any personal information included in the questions or comments
submitted by a user.
3.D.4. With the Simplemeal.lk account owner
If a user requests transportation, delivery, supply or places an order using an account
owned by another party, Simplemeal.lk may share their order or Pick-up and delivery
run information, including location information, with the owner of that account.
This occurs, for example, when:
A delivery person/s uses their employer’s Simplemeal.lk for Business profile,
such as when they take Pick-up and delivery run s arranged
through Simplemeal.lk
A delivering person/s or delivery person uses an account owned by or
associated with an Simplemeal.lk partner transportation/delivery company or
kitchen, restaurant.
A delivery person/s takes a Pick-up and delivery run arranged by a friend or
under a Family Profile.
A delivery person acts as a substitute.
3.D.5. With Simplemeal.lk sector partners, subsidiaries and affiliates
Simplemeal.lk share personal information with our sector partners, subsidiaries and
affiliates to help us provide our products and services or conduct information
processing on our behalf. For example, Simplemeal.lk processes and stores such
information in another country on behalf of its international subsidiaries and affiliates.
3.D.6. With Simplemeal.lk service providers and business partners
Simplemeal.lk provides personal information to vendors, consultants, marketing
partners, research firms, and other service providers or business partners.
These include:
Payment processors and facilitators.
Background check and identity verification providers.
Cloud storage providers.
Google, in connection with the use of Google Maps in Simplemeal.lk’s web
platform/apps (see Google’s privacy policy for information on their collects ion
and use of information).
Authorized and engaged social media companies, in connection with
Simplemeal.lk’s use of their tools in Simplemeal.lk’s web platforms/apps and
Simplemeal.lk’s sites.
Marketing partners and marketing platform providers, including social media
advertising products and required action, advertising networks, third-party
information providers, and other service providers to reach or better
understand our users and measure advertising effectiveness.
Research partners, including those performing surveys or research projects in
partnership with Simplemeal.lk or on behalf of Simplemeal.lk.
Vendors that assist Simplemeal.lk to enhance the safety and security of its web
platform/apps.
Consultants, lawyers, accountants, and other professional service providers
Insurance and financing partners
Restaurants, grocery stores and other merchants from whom delivery recipients
place orders, as Simplemeal.lk as partners and/or their point of sale providers,
including for order fulfillment, delivery, communications and marketing
purposes
Third-party Delivery suppliers, & partners
3.D.7. For legal reasons or in the event of a dispute
Simplemeal.lk may share users’ personal information if Simplemeal.lk believe it’s
required by applicable law, regulation, operating license or agreement, legal process or governmental request, or where the disclosure is otherwise appropriate due to safety
or similar concerns.
This includes sharing personal information with law enforcement officials, public health
officials, other government authorities, or other third parties as necessary to enforce
our Terms of Service, user agreements, or other policies; to protect Simplemeal.lk’s
rights or property or the rights, safety, or property of others; or in the event of a claim
or dispute relating to the use of our products and required action. In the event of a
dispute relating to use of another person’s credit card, Simplemeal.lk may be required
by law to share your or our users personal information, including Pick-up and delivery
run or order information, with the owner of that credit card.

This also includes sharing personal information with others in connection with, or
during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation or
restructuring, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by or into
another company.
3.D.8. With consent
Simplemeal.lk may share a user’s personal information other than as described in this
Policy notice if Simplemeal.lk notify the user and they consent to the sharing.
3.E. Information retention and deletion
Simplemeal.lk retains user information for as long as necessary for the purposes
described above.
Users may request deletion of their accounts at any time. Simplemeal.lk may retain user
information after a deletion request due to legal or regulatory requirements or for
reasons stated in this policy.
Simplemeal.lk retains user information for as long as necessary for the purposes
described above. This means that Simplemeal.lk retain different categories of
information for different periods of time depending on the type of information , the
category of user to whom the information relates, and the purposes for which
Simplemeal.lk collected the information.
Users may request deletion of their account at any time through the Settings > Privacy
menus in the Simplemeal.lk web platform/app, or through Simplemeal.lk’s
Simplemeal.lk’s site (delivering person/s and delivery recipients here; delivering
person/ss and delivery persons here).
Following an account deletion request, Simplemeal.lk deletes the user’s account and
information, unless they must be retained due to legal or regulatory requirements, for
purposes of safety, security, and fraud prevention, or because of an issue relating to
the user’s account such as an outstanding credit or an unresolved claim or dispute.
Because Simplemeal.lk are subject to legal and regulatory requirements relating to
delivering person/s and delivery recipient, food preparation partner, kitchen,
restaurants, and merchants, this generally means that Simplemeal.lk retain their
account and information for a minimum of 7 to 8 years after a deletion request.
4. Choice and transparency
Simplemeal.lk enables for users to access and/or control information that Simplemeal.lk
collects s, including through:
Privacy settings
Device permissions
In-app ratings pages
Marketing choices
Simplemeal.lk also enables users to request access to or copies of their information ,
changes or updates to their accounts, or deletion of their accounts, or that
Simplemeal.lk restricts its processing of user personal information.
4.A. Privacy settings
The Settings > Privacy menu in the Simplemeal.lk app allows delivering person/s and
delivery recipients to set or update their preferences regarding location information
collection and sharing, emergency information sharing, and notifications.
Location information collection (delivering person/s and delivery recipients)
Delivering person/s and delivery recipients can make enable / disable Simplemeal.lk to
collect location information from their mobile devices through their device settings,
which can be accessed via the Settings > Privacy > Location menu.
Share Live Location (Delivering person/s)
Delivering person/s can make enable / disable Simplemeal.lk to share their real-time
location information from their mobile devices with their delivering person/s through
their device settings, which can be accessed via the Settings > Privacy > Location menu.
Emergency Information Sharing
Delivering person/s may enable Simplemeal.lk to share real-time location information
from their mobile devices with emergency police, fire, and ambulance products and
required action. Such information may include approximate location at the time the
emergency call was placed; the vehicle’s make, model, color, and license plate
information; the delivery person/s name and phone number; pickup and drop-off
locations; and the delivering person/s’s name.
Delivering person/s may make enable / disable this feature via the Settings > Privacy >
Location menu, or the Safety Center.
Delivering person/s and delivery persons can also make enable / disable Emergency
Information Sharing via the App settings > Emergency Information Sharing menu, or
the Safety Toolkit.
Notifications: account and Pick-up and delivery run updates
Simplemeal.lk and or its delivery partners, provides users with Pick-up and delivery run
status notifications and updates related to activity on their account. These notifications
are a necessary part of using the Simplemeal.lk app and cannot be disabled.
Simplemeal.lk, users may choose the method by which they receive these notifications
through the Settings > Privacy menu.
Notifications: discounts and news
Users may enable Simplemeal.lk to send push notifications about discounts and news
from Simplemeal.lk. Push notifications may be enabled or disabled through the Settings
> Privacy menus in the Simplemeal.lk app.
Communications from food preparation partners, kitchens, restaurants,
merchants and suppliers.
Users may opt-in to receive communications from certain food preparation partners,
kitchens, restaurants, merchants and suppliers while placing an order in the
Simplemeal.lk web platform/app. Those who opt-in may choose to cease receiving such
communications through the Settings > Account > Information Sharing menus in the
Simplemeal.lk web platform/app.
4.B. Device permissions
Most mobile device platforms (iOS, Android, etc.) have defined certain types of device
information that apps cannot access without the device owner’s permission, and these
platforms have different methods for how that permission can be obtained. Please
check the available settings on your or our user’s device or check with your or our
user’s provider/s.
4.C. In-app ratings section/pages
After every Pick-up and delivery run, food preparation partners, kitchens, restaurants,
merchants and suppliers, delivering person/s and delivery recipients as applicable, are
able to rate each other on a scale from 1 to 5. An average of those ratings is associated
with a user’s account and is displayed to other users for whom they provide or receive
products and services.
For example, delivery person/s ratings are available to delivery
recipients from whom they request transportation, and food preparation partners,
kitchens, restaurants, merchants and supplier’s ratings are available to their delivery
recipient. And the delivery recipient’s ratings are available to the delivery parson/s and
food preparation partners, kitchens, restaurants, merchants and supplier’s.
This 3-way system holds everyone accountable for their behavior. Accountability helps
create a respectful and safe environment for all.
Delivering person/s and delivery recipients can see their average rating in the main
menu or dash board of the Simplemeal.lk web platform/app.
Delivery persons may also be rated by delivery recipients, food preparation partners,
kitchens, supplier’s restaurants and merchants. Click here for more information.
4.D. Marketing choices
Users may opt out of certain marketing communications (including ads) and use of
their information for marketing in the following ways:
Ad settings: These settings enable users to choose whether their information
is shared with Simplemeal.lk’s advertising partners to deliver personalized ads,
and/or to measure the effectiveness of such ads.
Marketing emails and messages: To opt out of receiving marketing emails from
Simplemeal.lk, or for instructions on how to set your or our users preferences
regarding whether to receive marketing SMS or push notifications from
Simplemeal.lk, click here. Users may also opt out of receiving emails and other
messages from Simplemeal.lk by following the unsubscribe instructions in those
messages. Simplemeal.lk may still send users who have opted out of non-
promotional communications, such as receipts for delivery or information about
their account.
Cookies and related technologies: For information on how to opt out of
personalized ads using cookies and related technologies, please see our Cookie
Policy notice .
Simplemeal.lk ads: Simplemeal.lk users can opt out of certain personalized ads
from Simplemeal.lk’s advertising partners here. Users who opt out may still see
ads, but they will be less relevant.
4.E. User personal information requests
Simplemeal.lk provides users with a variety of ways to learn about, control, and submit
questions and comments about Simplemeal.lk’s handling of their personal information.
Accessing information: Users can access information including their profile
information and Pick-up and delivery run or order history through the
Simplemeal.lk web platform/ apps or via Simplemeal.lk’s Simplemeal.lk site.
Users can also use our Explore Your or our users Information feature on <My
Dashboard> to view an online summary of information about their account,
such as number of Pick-up and delivery run s or orders, rating, rewards status,
and number of days since they’ve been an Simplemeal.lk user. Users can also
request access to their information here.
Receiving information : Users can request a copy of their personal information
using our Download Your or our users Information tool. For an overview of the
information available through that tool, please click here. Users may also
request a copy of their information here.
Changing or updating information: Users can edit the name, phone number,
email address, payment method, and photo associated with their account
through the Settings menu > My Dashboard in Simplemeal.lk’s web platform/
apps or user portal. Users may also request to update or correct their
information here.
Deleting information : Users may request deletion of their account at any time
through the Settings > Privacy menus in the Simplemeal.lk web platform/app, or
through Simplemeal.lk’s Simplemeal.lk site (delivering person/s and delivery
recipients here).
Objections, restrictions, and complaints: Users may request that Simplemeal.lk
stop using all or some of their personal information, or that Simplemeal.lk limit
our use of their information. This includes objecting to our use of personal
information that is based on Simplemeal.lk’s legitimate interests. Simplemeal.lk
may continue to process information after such objection or request to the
extent required or permitted by law.
In addition, depending on their location, users may have the right to file a
complaint relating to Simplemeal.lk’s handling of their personal information
with the information protection authority in their country.
